NOWW – UX/UI Case Study
Noww is a mobile safety app I designed to empower women with tools that support their personal security in everyday life. This project was the focus of my UX/UI capstone, where I aimed to create a calm, intuitive experience that addresses real safety concerns women face while walking alone or navigating unfamiliar environments.
Through user interviews and research, I uncovered the emotional weight and behavioral patterns tied to safety, which directly informed the app’s features—like emergency alerts, live location tracking, and access to trusted contacts. I prioritized simplicity, clarity, and quick usability, knowing that in urgent moments, design needs to disappear and support action.
Privacy and ethics were key throughout the process, and every decision was made to ensure the app felt trustworthy, empowering, and easy to use for women of all tech backgrounds. Noww isn’t just about functionality—it’s about peace of mind, and I’m proud of what this design represents.

1. Welcome & Onboarding: Noww’s pin-drop logo reinforces location awareness and personal grounding from the very first screen. A bold, welcoming interface sets a calm and clear tone for new users exploring the app's safety tools.

2. Incident Map View: Real-time alerts and map-based reports help users stay informed about nearby risks with accurate updates.

3. Emergency Calling Interface: An intuitive emergency countdown triggers help requests to trusted contacts and local responders instantly.

4. Settings Overview: Key features like contact setup, location sharing, and auto-message controls are centralized and color-coded for ease of use.

5. Contacts Page: Users can manage and monitor their emergency circle, with real-time status indicators like “Safe” or “Needs Help.”

6. Identity Verification: Optional verification adds an extra layer of trust and community safety by confirming user identities through secure uploads.
